Moral velocity: The death of humanness

Solid Ground, STR:  Years ago, Francis Schaeffer said that what was unthinkable yesterday is thinkable today, and ordinary and commonplace tomorrow. In other words, when a culture’s decline in values begins to pick up speed, it becomes velocitized and ceases to notice the descent. . . . Humanness is dying. The concept of unique human dignity is fading fast. We are putting it to death.
