Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Has Stopped 11,000 Abortions | LifeNews.com: The Guttmacher Institute, Planned Parenthood’s research arm, claimed that roughly 2,200 partial-birth abortions occurred in a representative year prior to the ban – almost all of which were performed because they were necessary to protect a woman’s health. Just over 5 years ago, the US Supreme Court upheld the ban.
