News from Israel

Israel Pro-Life Association writes, "Recently, we sent out an e-mail calling our partners to pray against a law that would permit free access to abortions, abolishing the need to get a government committee approval. The law was sent in writing to the [members of the Knesset] and was presented this past Sunday, the 6th of March, to the Government Committee on Legislature. It has been difficult for us to get access to the minutes from the meeting, but the MK who presented the law - a liberal MK called Nitsan Horovitz, just published on his website that the suggested law was rejected categorically. We wish to praise God for His hand in this meeting, and to ask you to pray for wisdom for us as we pursue different avenues of influencing our government ministers to stand strong against abortion."

They continue to pray that illegal, private abortions would be stopped. It is estimated that between 20-30 thousand illegal abortions (without government committee approval) are done annually.
