More than 800 'donor' babies a year are conceived at UK clinics yet little is known about the 'donor daddies' who make conception possible. Their identity is protected by a number - only the children they help create can ever know their name, and that's not until their 18th birthday.
But now a top London clinic is trying to change the secret and sometimes seedy image of sperm donation. Next month, the London Women's Clinic will unveil the first 'dating agency' style brochure detailing the personal qualities of its sperm donors.
