Stem cell hope for hip replacements

Hip replacement patients could have their own bone stem cells used in surgery instead of bone from donors if a new treatment proves successful. A team from the universities of Southampton and Nottingham believe that introducing a patient's own skeletal stem cells into the hip joint during bone grafting would encourage more successful regrowth and repair.
